THE OILHEAT INDUSTRY HAS EMBRACED THE INCLUSION OF BIODIESEL IN HEATING OIL

The oilheat industry has embraced the inclusion of biodiesel in heating oil – BioHeat® as a way of lowering our fuel's carbon intensity to address looming low carbon fuel mandates; as well as burnish our image as environmental stewards, especially since we have been selling energy conservation for decades.

The National Biodiesel Board (NBB) is making a serious commitment to the oilheat industry. A new BioHeat® Campaign began in New York City this week in advance of the mandate next October that all NYC heating oil be BioHeat ® (2%-5% blend of biodiesel). The NBB is also launching a program to brand oilheat marketers who sell BioHeat®. Your customers who listen to NYC radio or ride NYC mass transit will be exposed to these ads. Additionally, BioHeat® is has joined as a partner in presenting AREE 2012.

Over the past few years NJ has been an "island" without biofuel since it wasn't available at terminal racks. That began to change 2 years ago when Duck Island in Trenton installed bio and in the last few months both HESS and Sprague have made it available in Newark. Even if you aren't actively marketing yourself as a BioHeat® marketer you may very well be selling BioHeat® so why not start taking advantage of the benefits?!
